Hudson’s Greenland mine closed for winter
TSX-V-listed Hudson Resources will place its Greenland operations into temporary care-and-maintenance during the winter, citing technical production reasons.
The company, which owns the White Mountain anorthosite mine, explained this week that when cold rock entered the plant, it could influence iron extraction and product quality.
Hudson said it had ordered a rotary drum dryer, which would be installed into the process plant. The dryer fabrication was nearing completion and would arrive on the site by late December.
“The introduction of the new rotary drum dryer in January will ensure that we can make our GreenSpar anorthosite to specifications on a very consistent basis year-round,” said president Jim Cambon.
The company also reported that it had received the first purchase order for 5 000 t of its GreenSpar anorthosite product and that it would start deliveries from the Savannah warehouse this week.
