A leader in cutting edge technology and innovation, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), will be hosting their Reimagine 2018 event at the Kyalami International Convention Centre, Johannesburg, on 4th October 2018.

Part of a frequent series of global events, Reimagine 2018 will showcase HPE’s latest technology solutions and innovations, delve into the hottest trends and technology predictions relevant to the South African market whilst providing a platform for networking and idea sharing between HPE, their customers and partners.

The event is aimed at technologists, market influencers, business and IT decision makers; people with an interest in innovation, and HPE’s own ecosystem of partners, customers and niche players.

The over-arching theme of Reimagine 2018 will be ‘a World Where Everything Computes and What’s Next is Extraordinary’. Topics will highlight the relevance of HPE’s technology developments and solutions in the local and global economy, alongside their strategy and roadmap. Key speakers will discuss a range of IT trends and solutions, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Hybrid IT, Cloud, the Intelligent Edge and Blockchain. The event will also provide insight into how these technologies and solutions are working for customers in the real world.

Says Kena Setshogoe, MD at HPE, “Reimagine 2018’s agenda was based on content and questions that arose from our Discover events. It’s our goal to give attendees insight into how the right mix of technology and HPE solutions will help accelerate organisations’ digital efforts while paving the way for an extraordinary future. Attendees will also have the opportunity to trade industry best practices, learn how we are thinking proactively about the next extraordinary things, and how to apply this to their own businesses.”

Reimagine is an event that HPE has taken around the world for the past few years, and this is the second time (not consecutive) the event will take place in South Africa. Setshogoe adds that HPE intends to make this an annual occurrence in South Africa, expanding to various regions around the country.

“We are excited to host this event at the newly renovated and hypermodern Kyalami International Convention Centre this year, as the reinvention of the speedway and racing venue echoes our own vision for reinventing and innovating the way South Africa sees, uses and interacts with technology,” explains Setshogoe.

HPE recently underwent an internal shift, with the creation and redevelopment of several of their focus areas, solutions, and business units. Three of these areas will be addressed at Reimagine 2018; specifically: Hybrid IT, the Intelligent Edge, and PointNext.

Says Setshogoe, “We have adopted a very deliberate strategy which underpins the Cloud Age while recognising that most businesses will straddle the line between cloud and on premise, adopting a hybrid strategy. In support of this, our Hybrid IT business unit will offer assistance with data centre efficiency, SD strategies and managing a hybrid environment.”

The Intelligent Edge will encompass the complexities that come with a connected world where data is exploding. HPE will explore and define how they can design, build, implement, deploy and manage solutions which connect, collect, collate and analyse data from multiple sources at “the speed of thought”.

Setshogoe says that they will also talk about PointNext, HPE’s services division, which offers a host of flexible solutions and support services on a consumption base. HPE’s exclusive ecosystem of strategic partners come to the fore in this exciting offering, where they detail how their collective experience with multiple verticals, technologies and solutions will enhance South African organisations to optimise their operations and profitability.

“The world as we know it is not going to be the same as tomorrow’s world. Careers, technology, the way we live and play, the way we learn – everything will evolve and connect. At HPE, we are harnessing the power of technology to equip South African businesses with the mechanisms needed to adapt and succeed in this futuristic, virtual world.

We hope Reimagine 2018 will convince delegates that the future is not daunting, but exciting and – with HPE as a partner – a truly extraordinary one,” concludes Setshogoe.
