Hilti Advanced Firestop Training: Engineering
Hilti South Africa is offering Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training programs.
All of Hilti’s trainings are accredited with CESA and attendants gain a full CPD point towards their continuous professional development. Hilti trainers are engineers that have further studied through Hilti abroad and have gained a deep understanding of the subject matter.

Course Objective - Advanced Firestop Training (CESA-673-02/2018)
The course objective is to equip delegates with a good understanding of passive fire protection systems and the principals of firestop. After completion of this training, delegates will have a good understanding of passive firestop, compartmentation, firestop system approach and approval bodies.

Course Description
The course will cover the following topics but not limited to:
- Understand the Importance of Passive Fire Protection and the different fire stopping systems.
- Define fire compartment and compartmentation.
- Review & outline impact of passive fire protection within a business context and the community.
- How to restore the integrity of compartments that have been breached by services and other openings.
- What are the relevant Codes, Building Regulations and the different type Fire system Tests.
- Understand the fundamentals underpinning the Inspection of passive fire protection.
- Review some of the most common industry myths and misconceptions on firestop solutions
- How not to firestop: a list of design bad practices and a case study showing the consequences of as such practices.
- How to fire stop: a list of design best practices to consider and a case study showing the consequences of as such practices.
