Gruyere output set to rise - Gold Road
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold production at the Gruyere joint venture (JV), in Western Australia, reached 59 371 oz during the September quarter, compared with the 53 132 oz delivered in the June quarter, despite operational issues.
ASX-listed Gold Road Resources last week flagged operational issues at the JV, reporting a failure of a trunnion bearing, which prompted the shutdown of the ball mill, resulting in the processing plant operating at a reduced throughput rate.
The ball mill was returned to service at the end of September, and mill throughput was progressively ramped up over the weekend.
Gold Road on Monday told shareholders that as a result of the lower production rates in the June and September 2021 quarters, annual guidance has been revised to between 250 000 oz and 260 000 oz from original guidance of between 260 000 oz and 300 000 oz.
Production rates at the JV will increase in the December 2021 quarter as a result of higher grades and a component of softer oxide ore. December quarter production is guided at between 71 000 oz and 81 000 oz.
