Aim-listed GoldStone Resources has entered into a formal loan agreement with Asian Investment Management Services for a facility totalling $3-million.

The loan, together with $1.3-million raised in unsecured bond notes in March, will enable the company to continue financing the Akrokeri-Homase gold project, in Ghana, into production.

The company is first developing an openpit mine at the Homase South Pit and will build a heap leach facility.

GoldStone expects the project to produce its first gold in the fourth quarter.

The Akrokeri-Homase project hosts a gold resource of 602 000 oz, grading about 1.77 g/t.
