Aim-listed Goldplat nonexecutive chairperson Gerard Kemp and nonexecutive director Sango Ntsaluba have informed the company that they do not intend to stand for re-election at the next AGM, which is due to take place before the end of the year.

Following board discussion, both men will step down from their roles on September 27 while successors are sought.

In the interim, Gerard Kisbey-Green, who is a longstanding member of the board, will assume the role of acting chairperson.

Goldplat owns gold recovery operations in South Africa and Ghana.

Ntsaluba will remain involved with the group through his company’s shareholding in the South African subsidiary, Goldplat Recovery and as chairperson of the board of Goldplat Recovery.

“Both Gerard and Sango have been invaluable as members of the board where they have assisted the business through their industry and corporate experience and through their network in the markets in which we operate.

“I want to thank Gerard for his time and effort and his focus on assisting the business as well as for his management of the board. I want to thank Sango for his seven years of service as a board member and for the years of board experience and balance he brought to the table. I am looking forward to his continued support at a subsidiary level,” says CEO Werner Klingenberg
