PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Gold Road Resources has reported a 26% increase in the measured and indicated resource at its Gruyere project, in Western Australia.

The project is now estimated to host a Joint Ore Reserves Committee- (Jorc-) compliant mineral resource of 134.31-million tonnes, grading 1.41 g/t gold for 6.07-million ounces of gold.

The measured and indicated resource comprised 74%, or 4.12-million, of these ounces, and was up by 26% on the previous estimate.

The gold grade at the Gruyere project also increased by 9%, to 1.36 g/t gold, at 0.7% cutoff.

Gold Road on Wednesday said the new mineral resource estimate was based on an update using 68 km of previously reported drilling, as well as an update of the Attila Trend mineral resource to a Jorc-compliant standard.

An update to the Central Bore mineral resource was now planned, incorporating an updated geological model informed by a geological review completed earlier this year.

Gold Road was also planning a reverse circulation programme to convert the near-surface portion of the mineral resource at Gruyere into the measured category. Deeper drilling would be completed in the medium to longer term, targeting the extensional potential highlighted by a recent diamond hole.
