JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Triple-listed Gold Fields expects attributable gold equivalent production for the year ended December 31 to be about 2.22-million ounces, with all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of $1 060/oz and all-in costs (AIC) of $1 095/oz.

“Encouragingly, both AISC and AIC for the year are expected to be better than previous guidance, while expected yearly production is slightly better than the original guidance of 2.2-million ounces,” the company said in a production and cost update on Friday.

The AISC expected for 2014 was about 6% better that the original guidance of $1 125/oz provided on February 13, and 3% better than the revised guidance of $1 090/oz provided on October 20.

Similarly, the expected AIC for the 2014 fiscal year was around 5% better than the original guidance of $1 150/oz and 3% better than the revised guidance of $1 130/oz.

Production for the last quarter of the year was, meanwhile, expected to narrow from 559 000 oz in the third quarter to 556 000 oz in the last three months of the year.

Gold Fields’ results for the quarter and year ended December 31 would be published on February 12.
