President Cyril Ramaphosa’s workload during his first three-and-a-bit months in office has been heavy, to say the least. Even before taking over as President, he needed to intervene urgently to prevent Eskom from running out of cash. The firefighting has continued unabated since his February 15 inauguration, with the political flare-up in the North West and factional killings in KwaZulu-Natal almost crowding out his big investment message. Ramaphosa’s diligent adherence to process has frustrated some, but has arguably enabled him to walk a very treacherous unity-versus-reform line. Will there be any let-up in the coming 100 days? Not likely.
