Name: Florida mine.

Controlling Company: Yamana Gold (100%).

Location: Florida mine is located on the Alhue property, 73 km south of Santiago, in central Chile.

Brief History: The Florida mine has been operating successfully for over 20 years. Mining operations began in 1986, at a processing rate of 10 000 t/m, producing a gold, silver and zinc concentrate for off-site treatment. By 2003, process improvement had increased the treatment rate to 35 000 t/m for on-site doré production and production of a zinc concentrate for off-site treatment. Meridian Gold bought Florida mine from a private Chilean company in July 2006. About a year later, Meridian was absorbed into Yamana Gold.

Brief Description: The Alhué property consists of 149 mineral licences covering an area of about 16 000 ha, just 200 ha of which the mine facilities occupy.
Mining Method: Underground, using the open stoping mining method.

Products: Gold, silver and zinc.

Major Infrastructure and Equipment: Ore is treated in a 2 000 t/d plant incorporating flotation and the Merrill-Crow process.

Geology/Mineralisation: The geology of the Alhue district consists of low sulphidation veins and mesothermal stockwork systems emplaced in a volcanic sequence known as the Lo Valle formation, of the Cretaceous age. The mineralogy is mainly native gold, electrum, galena and sphalerite.

Reserves: Total proven and probable reserves as at December 31, 2012, were 10.77-million tons, with a grading of 2.44 g/t gold.

Resources: Total measured and indicated resources as at December 31, 2012, were 2.673-million tons, with a grading of 5.96 g/t gold. Total inferred resources were 3.738-million tons, with a grading of 5.52 g/t gold.

Prospects: The focus in 2012 was on replacing reserves depleted and identifying new resources. The programme was successful and resulted in the discovery of the Aguas Frias East deposit.
In 2013, further drilling is  expected to further delineate  and expand this new deposit.

Contact Person: VP operations, Chile and Mexico, Ricardo Solovera.
