JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – ASX-, Aim- and JSE-listed Ferrum Crescent on Wednesday said the bankable feasibility study (BFS) on its Moonlight iron-ore project, in Limpopo, was progressing, with the appointment of an Italy-based group for process engineering.

The iron-ore developer had tasked Italy-based iron- and steelmaking technology and equipment supplier Danieli C Officine Meccaniche to undertake the process engineering and associated technical services required for the BFS.

Ferrum chairperson Ed Nealon commented that Danieli would develop a full process engineering analysis and final study for the proposed beneficiation and six-million-ton-a-year pelletising plants.

Ferrum would appoint further engineering groups for other components, including mine design, required for the completion of the BFS.

The full study was expected to be complete within 12 months to 18 months. The company aimed to start construction on site by 2015, with completion in 2018.
