Class action specialist Echo Law has filed class action proceedings against ASX-listed Evolution Mining in the Federal Court of Australia, relating to allegations of failure to comply with disclosure obligations and misleading and deceptive conduct during the period July 2021 to June 2022, and primarily to statements with respect to its Red Lake operations, in Ontario, Canada.

The amount of damages sought has not yet been specified by the applicant.

Evolution Mining says it intends to “vigorously defend the proceedings”.

Evolution operates six mines, comprising five wholly owned mines – Cowal, in New South Wales; Ernest Henry and Mt Rawdon, in Queensland; Mungari, in Western Australia; and Red Lake.

It also holds an 80% share in Northparkes, in New South Wales.
