As the inaugural Sasol GTC Africa hits the business end of the season – there are just two rounds remaining – the Engen Xtreme Team are determined to shut the door on their competitors.

After a near dominant showing in the event thus far, Engen Xtreme driver Michael Stephen currently leads the championship standings from Gennaro Bonafede, with fellow Engen Xtreme driver Simon Moss in third place

The penultimate round of the 2016 Sasol GTC Africa season is scheduled for Zwartkops Raceway on 26 November, with the curtain coming down in East London a week later on 3 December.

Stephen has amassed 511 points to date and leads Bonafede by 153 points heading into Zwartkops for the second time in 2016. In the opening round of the season at Zwartkops Stephen claimed both pole position and won both races in his Engen Xtreme Audi A3. For good measure, he also set the fastest lap in each race.

Moss returns to Zwartkops on a strong footing, having shown steady improvement as the season has progressed. With more than 200 points still up for grabs this season, the blonde racer has his eye firmly set on catching on Bonafede and claiming second place.

Between Stephen and Moss, they have largely dominated the new GTC series to date. Ten races have taken place in 2016 with Stephen winning seven and appearing on the podium in every race. Moss has been on the podium four times, with his best result so far a second place.

No other team comes close to matching these results and it is going to be tough for anyone to change that with just two rounds of the season remaining.
