South Africa’s motorists have named Engen Petroleum as the country’s Preferred Fuel Brand in the prestigious Standard Bank People’s Wheels Award – for the second year running.

Established as an oil company of choice in sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, the Engen brand is being recognised more than ever by consumers, due to its novel service offerings and forecourt service that always puts motorists first.

“We want to know as much as possible about our customers and what they want,” says Engen Sales & Marketing General Manager, Joe Mahlo.

After research conducted to ascertain what motorists were looking for, the company launched new fuels last year, the Engen Primax Unleaded and Dynamic Diesel, to meet their needs.

“We are humbled by the vote we have received, we take it as doing something right in making motorists’ journeys more enjoyable,” he says.

“Our efforts to make our customers feel important have been recognised time and time again. We have been named the ‘Coolest Petroleum Brand’ for the third year in a row in the Sunday Times Generation Next youth survey, and been given the 2013 Sunday Times Top Brand award for the third consecutive year. We were also named SA’s Leading Oil Company in the 2013 Top Company Reputation Index, run by Mail & Guardian,” continues Mahlo.
