Elquip Solutions at the ‘cutting-edge’ of sawing technology with IMET
Company Announcement - Elquip Solutions is bringing Italian cutting-edge technology to the South African market in the form of metal cutting band saws, circular saws and sawing machines. The company has secured a distributorship agreement with IMET, an established Italian sawing technology specialist. IMET has been at the forefront of metal cutting machines for nearly five decades. The company specialises in the manufacture of circular sawing machines and band saws for all metals, with a cutting capacity of up to 1200 mm.
Elquip Solutions is well known for its extensive range of leading global electrical, automation, mechanical and capital equipment. The addition of IMET to its range adds yet another global industrial machinery leader to their impressive portfolio. “We are constantly expanding our range to meet our customers’ needs, but our commitment to top quality never changes,” says Mike Cronin, Managing Director of Elquip Solutions. “Since its inception in 1968, IMET has had an impressive track record of investing in product development to meet the increasingly complex needs of the market; while maintaining compliance with the highest safety and environmental standards,” Cronin explains.
IMET maintains these high standards by focusing on precision in manufacturing, and strict control and accuracy - pre-and post-assembly of their products.
In addition to excellent facilities in which IMET stringently manages all aspects of the manufacturing process, the company has key strategic partnerships with specialists and world leaders in relevant fields. “These include partnerships with Bonfigliol for gear motors, Schneider-Electric for electronic components and Wikus for blades, thereby ensuring that IMET’s products are of the very highest quality,” Cronin adds. IMET is part of a group that includes: CEA SPA of Lecco, a manufacturer of welding machines and LAMETEC SRL of Cisano Bergamasco, a leader in sheet metal processing. Wherever possible, IMET also reduces its impact on the environment, ensuring compliance with European standards. For example, the company reduces waste by using minimal amounts of environmentally-friendly vegetable oil in its lubricating systems.
“Providing individually tailored, value-added solutions to our customers is our primary objective and key to this is our extensive range,” he says. “Having IMET equipment in our portfolio provides customers with an even wider choice in quality cutting products.” IMET’s approach to customer service reflects Elquip Solutions’ own emphasis on putting the customer first, with the delivery of spare parts guaranteed by IMET within 24 to 48 hours anywhere in the world.
IMET equipment is distributed in seventy countries globally. “We are proud to be chosen to represent IMET in South Africa, and are pleased to add another world-class product to our range,” Cronin concludes
