Company Announcement - ELB Engineering Services congratulates Hazel Moller on her Ten10 achievement.  This ultimate running challenge, where only a couple of runners run the 90km Comrades distance each day consecutively for the 9 days leading up to the epic ultra-marathon, culminating with competing in the Comrades.  This is the equivalent to running ten Comrades in 10 days.  (90km each day for 10 days = 900 km).  ELB is honoured that Hazel ran the Ten10 in ELB running vests and would like to contribute R20 000-00 to the charity so close to her heart, PETs.

These crazy runners’ motivation is to raise as much money for their charity, PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships) as possible.  PET’s is a registered, non-profit, pro-active, pro-life animal rescue organisation and was founded by Anoux Massey in 2007.  PET’s strives to empower animals in townships and poor communities. Why are they doing it?  Running ten Comrades Marathon’s (90km) in 10 days = 900 km.  Hazel says she run because she loves it. “It makes me feel alive, reminds me of just how blessed I am and I realized I can pass my blessings on.  I chose to help PETs (Pets Empowerment in Townships), as I am always finding lost and injured animals when I run, and over the years I have discovered that pet shelters are hopelessly unsupported in a society where so many charities need help.  I truly believe that success in any area is dependent on analysis of the task, appropriate planning, the right equipment (hence the cool, light weight ELB vests), persistence and most importantly passion for what you are doing!  I only managed to achieve what I did because my little trot to Durban was powered by passion”, she says.
