Company Announcement - Acquisition broadens services and improves opportunities in strategic water treatment market; enhances Ecolab's ability to help customers address growing water constraints in China. Ecolab , the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, has acquired controlling interest in Jianghai Environmental Protection Co. Ltd. (Jianghai), an industrial water treatment company headquartered in Changzhou. Jianghai provides water treatment technologies, chemistries and services to several industries in China, including customers in power and chemicals. Jianghai has more than 550 employees and operates two manufacturing plants in Changzhou. In 2014, the company had sales of $90 million. No further details were announced.
The acquisition complements Ecolab's current industrial water treatment offerings under the Nalco name, and strengthens the company's long-term growth opportunities in the increasingly water-stressed China market. "Jianghai's excellent reputation, size and product and service offerings complement and expand our water treatment business in China. Both companies are known for their service-oriented, problem-solving approach to optimizing customer operations and profitability," said Ecolab Chairman and CEO Douglas M. Baker, Jr. Ecolab will continue to serve customers in China through both Jianghai and Nalco.
