Drives technology increases efficiency
Technology provider Emerson Industrial Automation’s Control Techniques drives technology makes mining equipment, such as conveyors, more effective, thus assisting the extractives industry in achieving energy savings.
Emerson Industrial Automation is a subsidiary of global industrial, commercial, and consumer markets technology and engineering company Emerson.
Control Techniques drives offer digital technology with integrated solutions that are easy to set up and reliable, therefore, simplyfying bulk materials handling.
The technology offering includes a wide range of alternating-current (ac) drives, direct-current (dc) drives, soft starters and advanced motor controls for activities such as coal mining and moving large volumes of rock.
Control Techniques Technology
The Control Techniques technology includes the Digistart packaged soft starter solution which, in turn, includes digital technology to provide ease of setup and the reliability needed demanding applications such as conveyors, mixers, hammer mills, palletisers, separators, shredders, agitators, rock crushers, grab buckets, excavators, loaders and pumps.
The Commander SK is a general- purpose ac drive that is easy to use, with on-board intelligence and fieldbus communications. The drive modules are compact and offer effective motor control.
Mentor MP is a high-performance dc drive that brings dc drive technology up to date, enabling existing and new dc motors to pro- vide economic and productive service. Mentor MP dc drive technology is cost effective and efficient and is relatively simple to implement. It is advantageous to use, especially for regenerative and high-power applications.
Unidrive SP Modular is a high power modular ac drive that also offers maximum power system design flexibility. Drive modules may be connected together in a variety of ways to create custom power conversion schemes such as common dc bus systems, active input systems for returning excess energy to the power supply and parallel drives for high-power motors. The units can also be used for bulk power inverters for renewable-energy systems.
