Diamond miner De Beers Group’s third sales cycle for this year generated about $540-million in revenue.

This compares with sales revenue of $497-million and $566-million generated in the second sales cycle of 2023 and the third sales cycle of 2022, respectively.

De Beers CEO Al Cook says demand for rough diamonds remained solid during the third sales cycle of the year, which spanned from March 27 to April 11.

The company undertakes rough diamond sales through global sightholder sales and auctions.

“Sales were in line with expectations and we continue to see some encouraging positive trends in consumer demand for diamond jewellery, not least in China, where we are beginning to see some signs of recovery in consumer confidence following the relaxation of travel restrictions,” Cook comments.
