Name of the Mine
Côté mine.

Location
The Côté mine is located in the Chester and Yeo townships, District of Sudbury, in north-eastern Ontario, Canada.

Mine Owner/s
Côté is a 70:30 joint venture (JV) between IAMgold Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Mining (SMM).

Brief Description
The Côté gold project is one of the largest undeveloped gold projects in Canada. The property hosts the Côté and Gosselin deposits.

Brief History
The first gold pour was completed on March 31, 2024.

Primary Metals/Minerals
Gold.

Secondary Metals/Minerals
Not stated.

Geology/Mineralisation
The Côté and Gosselin deposits are located in the Swayze greenstone belt in the south-western extension of the Abitibi greenstone belt of Superior province. The Abitibi subprovince comprises Late Archean metavolcanic rocks, related synvolcanic intrusions, and clastic metasedimentary rocks, intruded by Archean alkaline intrusions and Paleoproterozoic diabase dykes. The Swayze greenstone belt, like the rest of the Abitibi greenstone belt, contains extrusive and intrusive rock types ranging from ultramafic to felsic in composition, as well as chemical and clastic sedimentary rocks.

The Côté and Gosselin deposit type gold mineralisation comprises low- to moderate-grade gold mineralisation associated with brecciated and altered tonalite and diorite rocks. Several styles of gold mineralisation are recognised within the deposit, and include disseminated, breccia hosted and vein type, all of which are co-spatial with biotite, sericite and for the Côté deposit silica-sodic alteration.

Disseminated mineralisation in the hydrothermal matrix of the breccia is the most important style of gold mineralisation. This style consists of disseminated pyrite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, magnetite, gold (often in native form), and molybdenite in the matrix of the breccia and is associated with primary hydrothermal biotite and chlorite after biotite. The nature of the veins and fractures vary from stockworks to closely-spaced, planar, subparallel sheeted vein sets.

Reserves
Mineral reserves as at December 31, 2023, were estimated at 234.64-million tonnes  grading 1.01 g/t gold.

Resources
Measured and indicated resources as at December 31, 2023, were estimated at 444.77-million tonnes grading 0.84 g/t gold. Inferred mineral resources were 60.59-milllion tonnes grading 0.61 g/t gold.

Type of Mine
Openpit.

Mining Method
Truck-shovel, using an autonomous truck-and-drill fleet, supported by a conventional manned loading fleet and a fleet of manned support equipment.

Major Infrastructure/Equipment
The mine comprises an openpit; a mine rock area and stockpile facilities; a tailings management facility; a permanent camp and a temporary construction camp; an emulsion plant; a workshop, offices, facilities, and other services; watercourse realignment dams and channels; a lake to compensate for the loss of Côté Lake habitat; storm/mine water, polishing, and tailings reclaim ponds; collection, surplus water discharge, and dispersion systems; a two-lane gravel access road; a transmission line from Timmins to Shining Tree Junction and a 44-km-long 115 kV electrical power transmission line from Shining Tree Junction to the mine site; and an electrical distribution network.

The mine includes a processing plant. The process design uses conventional technology and equipment, and includes primary crushing, secondary crushing, high-pressure grinding rolls, ball and vertical milling, gravity concentration and cyanide leaching, followed by gold recovery by carbon-in-pulp, stripping and electrowinning.

Prospects
The Gosselin deposit represents potential for additional mine life for the Côté mine.
