Name of the Project
Crown Mountain hard coking coal project.

Location
British Columbia, Canada.

Project Owner/s
The project is owned by Jameson Resources’ Canadian Subsidiary, NWP Coal Canada, which is 77.8%-owned by Jameson and 22.2% by Bathurst Resources.

Project Description
A yield optimisation study has confirmed increased production and substantial improved potential economic outcomes at Crown Mountain by increasing product ash levels from 9.5% to 10.5% for the North and East pits product and from 9.5% to 11% for South pit product.

The yield optimisation study builds upon the bankable feasibility study completed in July 2020, which confirmed that the project represents a compelling high-quality hard coking coal development opportunity with a competitive operating and capital cost structure, and access to existing common-user rail and port infrastructure.

The study has determined an increased life-of-mine product yield of 52.9%, compared with 48.8% in the bankable feasibility study (BFS), resulting in an 8.4% increase in average yearly product coal sales from 1.8-million tonnes a year to 1.96-million tonnes a year.

Total clean coal production has increased from 26.27-million tonnes in the BFS to 28.46-million tonnes in the yield optimisation study.

Crown Mountain will have a 15-year mine life.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The reduced production cost and increased sales volume have resulted in an overall 25% increase in the pretax net present value, at a 10% discount rate, from $376-million to $469-million, compared with that of the BFS.

The project’s pretax internal rate of return has increased from 36.4% to 40.2%

Capital Expenditure
Preproduction capital is estimated at $309-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Not stated.

Latest Developments
Jameson plans to work with NWP Coal Canada to undertake additional studies to further optimise the BFS in parallel with continuing to progress regulatory approvals for the project.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
