Name: Coricancha mine.

Location: The Coricancha mine is located in the Central Peruvian Andes, about 90 km east of Lima, Peru.

Controlling Company: Nyrstar.

Brief History: The Coricancha mine has more than 60 years of operating history.

Brief Description: Coriancha is a polymetallic mine.

Mining Method: Underground.

Products: Gold/silver doré, lead concentrate, zinc concentrate, copper concentrate.

Major Infrastructure and Equipment: The polymetallic mine comprises a 600 t/d ore-processing facility, using the BIOX bioleaching process to recover refractory gold.

Geology/Mineralisation: Coriancha mineralisation is hosted in several narrow polymetallic mesothermal veins.

Reserves: Total proved and probable reserves, according to a report published on February 7, were 640 000 t, with a grading of 2.6% zinc, 1.77% lead, 0.32% copper, 149.12 g/t silver and 4.35 g/t gold.

Resources: Total measured and indicated resources, according to a report published on February 7, were 890 000 t, with a grading of 3.11% zinc, 1.97% lead, 0.42% copper, 174.62 g/t silver and 5.04 g/t gold. Inferred mineral resources were 4.88-million tones, with a grading of 2.98% zinc, 1.57% lead, 0.48% copper, 224.54 g/t silver and 4.91 g/t gold.

Prospects: An exploration programme is planned for this year, focusing on economical mining zones on lower levels of the mine.
