Compamed 2019: Coherent Features Laser-Based Solutions for Medical Devices
At Compamed 2019 (November 18 - 21) in Düsseldorf (Germany), Coherent (Hall 8a, Booth F 35.4) will exhibit a broad range of laser-based solutions for diverse medical device fabrication tasks, including cutting, welding, marking, and 3D printing. Coherent CREATOR™ is a 3D metal printer that is ideal for the production of individualized dentures and implants using supplier-independent materials, with low overall cost.
This additive manufacturing system is particularly well suited for this application as it accepts input from virtually any CAD program. With its customer-friendly Dental Cockpit software, all aspects of the process are simplified and automated, eliminating hours of cost-intensive technician labor. The CREATOR is self-contained and has no special installation requirements, making it easily deployable in virtually any environment.
Additional applications featured on the Coherent booth:
Black marking for UDI on stainless steel reusables. The PowerLine™ Rapid NX is an ultrashort pulse (USP) laser sub-system that produces high contrast black marks that do not corrode or fade with repeated sterilization.
Permanent marking of transparent and colored polymers. The PowerLine E 8 QT is a compact air-cooled UV laser marking sub-system that provides a versatile solution for plastic marking.
Cutting, welding, and drilling. The ExactSeries are automated machines for precision manufacturing tasks. The ExactWeld for example, is ideal for welding endoscopes as well as titanium implants and prostheses.
Manual welding of metals. Coherent’s comprehensive portfolio of laser sub-systems and systems for the medical device market also features a range of manual welding laser systems for metals.
Coherent’s products bring advanced manufacturing capabilities to the medical device industry as it strives to meet the challenges of fabricating complex and highly regulated devices. With service and support locations worldwide, Coherent brings decades of applications experience, technical innovation, and support to deliver the optimum risk-reduced solution for your medical device manufacturing challenges.
