A new addition to a range of digital programmable three phase 5 kW AC-DC power supplies offers flexible operation with uncomplicated low line input requirements.

The new HPL5K0 series offers both constant voltage and constant current operation, along with the flexibility and user configurability specifically suited for applications such as light-emitting diode, or LED, curing and heating, two-dimensional (2D) and 3D printing, battery charging and simulation, lasers, motor control and water treatment.

The new unit is said to deliver the performance of a three phase power supply, which consists of three wires plus earth, without the need for a neutral connection. In addition, the input range of 180 VAC to 264 VAC reduces the need for costly facility upgrades that are often necessary for high power applications.

Features of the HPL5K0 series include:

  • Low line three phase (three wires plus earth) 180 VAC to 264 VAC input
  • Nominal output voltages 60 VDC, 100 VDC or 200 VDC
  • Parallel operation for up to five units with synchronous output turn-on
  • Analog and digital interfaces
  • Multiple digital protocols including I²C PMBus, CANopen, MODBUS, SCPI
  • Graphical user interface, or GUI, RS232 or UART mod standard option replacing standard RS485

The new unit is available from Vepac Electronics, providers of a range of power supplies, including dc-dc converters, programmable power supplies and oscilloscopes, photoelectric sensors, encoders, electrical enclosures, factory automation devices, and chemicals for electronics and soldering stations.
