JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Dual-listed coal developer Coalspur has appointed Robert Gough as CFO, with effect from October 1.

He previously worked for BHP Billiton in various senior executive roles and most recently as VP of finance for BHP Billiton Energy Coal.

“Rob brings to Coalspur a diverse financial acumen across multiple industry segments, including the thermal coal sector, and significant expertise in public company corporate finance, as well as corporate development. [His] experience will serve us extremely well as we move towards construction on Vista,” commented Coalspur president and CEO Gill Winckler.

The coal company announced earlier this month that construction on its Vista project, in Canada, had been delayed, as it continues to await developmental approval.
