A coal stockpile at the newly opened Khanye colliery, which has reserves of 39-million tonnes and plans to produce 2.8-million tonnes of coal each year over the next 15 years. Khanye forms part of the four-operation Canyon Coal group and offers a subbituminous product to both the domestic and export markets. It is located in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng. Canyon also has coal mines in Mpumalanga and coal exploration projects scattered across South Africa.
