Project description
The Camutue project is located 10 km east of Lucapa, in the Lunda Norte province, north-eastern Angola. It comprises Camutue East, Camutue West, and the Caixepa concessions.

The project consists of reasonable volumes of high-grade material in the associated deposits, as well as a kimberlite cluster of no fewer than nine pipes, of which five have shown to be diamondiferous and two have been mined to some extent.

In May 2006, Resource & Investment NL (R&I) finalised and executed an operating agreement with Tecmad Mining Services, for its immediate appointment as an independent contractor and operator, to manage the planned recommissioning of the Camutue associated diamond deposits, which will include design and implementation of all the required modifications to the existing on-site processing plant and associated infrastructure, including procurement of equipment, the mobilisation to site and management of mining operations, the management and supervision of all activities relating to run-of-mine production, including mining, loading, hauling, screening, processing, stockpiling and storage, as well as weighing, sampling and testing the diamond grades, conducting exploration within the concession area, and the management and organisation of all earthmoving activities.
