JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Dual-listed Caledonia Mining, which operates the Blanket gold mine in Zimbabwe, has promoted its CFO Steve Curtis to CEO.

He succeeded Stefan Hayden, who stepped down as CEO.

Curtis, a chartered accountant with over 30 years' experience, joined Caledonia in 2006 and was elected to the board in 2008.

He would be supported in his role as CEO by Caledonia's existing management team, which included COO Dana Roets and current VP of investor relations and corporate development Mark Learmonth, who would take over as CFO.
