Project Description
The Cabinda phosphate project incorporates a 2 000 km2 exploration permit covering all the known phosphate occurrences in the Cabinda province.
The project contains one development project, Cacata, and four advanced exploration projects – Mongo Tando, Chibuete, Ueca and Chivovo.
A scoping study on the Cacata project has concluded that by using the truck-and-shovel approach, the high-grade portion of the Cacata orebody could be mined at a 1.2-million-tonne-a-year run-of-mine (RoM) strip ratio of 1.74:1 (waste to RoM) and a RoM bench height of 3.7 m.
