Bt Strengthens Global Defence Against Growing Cyber Security Threats With Cisco Firepower Solution

Company Announcement - BT today announced that it is incorporating Cisco FirePOWER™ Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System into the BT Assure portfolio of managed security services, further strengthening data and systems protection for BT customers. Safeguarding network assets and data is a challenge for global businesses of all sizes facing the exponential growth in cyber security risks. Legacy systems are unable to provide full visibility into the network layers and IT resources of today’s business environments. In addition, they cannot put into context the information required to understand the scale and impact of potential security threats.
Cisco FirePOWER NGIPS gives organisations detailed visibility into all of their network layers. It gives an organisation true visibility and contextual awareness of users, infrastructure and applications and protects the network against known and unknown threats before, during and after an attack.
Mark Hughes, president of BT Security, said: “When it comes to security, it is all about rethinking the risk. Organisations need new technologies to combat rapidly evolving cyber threats. We work with world class partners to strengthen our security portfolio and help organisations master this ever changing landscape. Cisco’s FirePOWER NGIPS brings a very strong additional capability to the arsenal of security solutions that BT customers can deploy to protect their critical assets and be prepared for the future.”
