Project Description
The project aims to expand production at the Bomboko alluvial diamond mine from 3 500 t/m of gravel to 35 000 t/m of gravel.
Operations at the mine started with a ten-foot pan plant and a 14-t excavator, capable of treating 7 000 t/m. The commissioning and installation of a 16-ft pan plant and a 46-t excavator are expected to increase the production rate to 18 000 t/m.
Extensive sampling has identified a potential resource of up to 750 000 ct at grades up to 28 cpht, mainly gem quality.

Duration
The mine came on stream in March 2009.
Production started in April 2009, with a higher production rate expected by October 2009.

A recent diamond sale of a sample parcel of diamonds has resulted in revenues of $50 270 for 433 ct. The largest diamond, at 16,27 ct, sold for $1 000/ct. The remaining 420 ct sold for a collective $34 000.
