As Africa continues to urbanise rapidly, the demand for innovative, sustainable, and resilient mobility solutions is more pressing than ever. Bolt, Africa's leading ride-hailing platform, is dedicated to addressing these needs through continuous investment in smart mobility solutions, thereby transforming urban transport across the continent.

Sustainability, resilience, and innovation are the cornerstones of Bolt's vision for the future of urban mobility in Africa. By prioritising these principles, Bolt aims to create transport solutions that not only meet the current demands but also anticipate and adapt to future challenges. This approach ensures that Bolt's services contribute to the overall quality of urban life, offering efficient, eco-friendly, and reliable mobility options.

“Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our recent partnership in Kenya with M-KOPA to launch an electric motorcycle fleet in Kenya,” said Bolt Regional Director for Ridehailing Operations in Africa and International Markets Caroline Wanjihia. “Through this recently announced partnership, new and existing drivers now have the opportunity to lease ROAM and Ampersand electric motorbikes at a discounted price, significantly reducing their operational costs while contributing to a greener environment. This initiative is a prime example of how Bolt promotes eco-friendly transport solutions across Africa.

In July 2023, Bolt also launched Bajaj vehicles in the Bolt Lite ride type in South Africa. This initiative offers a more affordable and efficient transport option, catering to the diverse needs of our customers while maintaining a focus on sustainability and innovation.

Bolt’s proactive approach to urban mobility challenges underscores its leadership in the ride-hailing sector. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and fostering partnerships, Bolt is committed to enhancing the quality of life in African cities through smart, sustainable, and resilient transportation solutions.

In addition, Bolt will participate as a platinum sponsor in the upcoming Smart Mobility Africa Summit, scheduled for October 2-4. This premier event will bring together key decision-makers to showcase Africa's mobility solutions and shape the future of transport on the continent. Bolt’s top executives will deliver keynote speeches and participate in panel discussions, sharing insights on the company’s innovative strategies and future plans for sustainable urban development.
