STOCKHOLM - Swedish metals maker Boliden said a political two-week strike in Finland's harbours and railroad system due to start Monday would negatively affect the company, adding that the group will try to limit the impact on its customers.

If the strike goes through as announced, Boliden expects a 300-million crown hit to its first-quarter profit, whereof 100-million would be due to reduced production and 200-million due to delayed deliveries to customers, it said in a statement.

Workers elsewhere in Finland started industrial action last month to protest against labour market reforms and proposed cuts to the social welfare system planned by the right-wing government.
