Aim-listed BlueRock Diamonds achieved record production of 92 500 t in the third quarter, compared with the 63 600 t produced in the third quarter of last year.

This was 45% higher year-on-year, notwithstanding the suspension of operations for 19 days in July owing to crushing circuit works.

The company, which owns and operates the Kareevlei diamond mine, in Kimberley, achieved a grade of 4.30 carats per hundred tonnes (cpht) in the third quarter, compared with a grade of 3.13 cpht in the third quarter of last year.

BlueRock sold 4 139 ct at an average price of $432/ct in the quarter under review, compared with the 1 834 ct sold in the prior comparable quarter at an average price of $341/ct.
