Aim-, FSE-listed and QTCQB-traded Bluejay Mining CEO Bo Stensgard said on Friday that he had held a positive meeting with Greenland’s mining Minister, who was appointed following the recent general election in that country.

Housing, Infrastructure, Mineral Resources and Gender Equality Minister Naaja Nathanielsen reportedly reaffirmed the government’s support for the industry and confirmed that Greenland continued to support the Minerals Strategy 2020 – 2024, which provided a framework for the development of mineral resources in Greenland.

The Inuit Ataqatigiit (IA) party’s recent election victory led to concern that the mining industry may suffer, with the Kvanjefield rare earth project, which Australia’s Greenland Minerals is developing, having been halted.

The ruling party has taken an anti-radioactive-element stance, but has publicly stated that it is pro-mining.

“It was great to have had such a productive meeting with Ms. Nathanielsen and to have confirmation of the government's continued support for a sustainable mining industry in Greenland. At Bluejay we are working hard to progress our portfolio of assets and drive value for all our stakeholders and look forward to continuing our positive working relationships in country,” said Stensgard.

Dundas Titanium MD Hans Jensen and Mineral Resources Deputy Minister Jørgen Hammenken-Holm also attended the meeting.
