PERTH (miningweekly.com) - ASX-listed Blackham Resources has increased the Matilda gold project’s resource by some 382% since acquisition, increasing the resource base to 1.5-million ounces.

The Matilda project’s resource now stood at an estimated 24-million tons at 1.9 g/t gold, of which the Matilda mine resource accounted for some 14-million tons at 1.8 g/t gold for 784 000 oz.

“The company is delighted with the rapid growth of the Matilda gold project,” said MD Bryan Dixon.

“In the 14 months since acquisition, the project resource has grown over 382%. Most of this growth has come from the Matilda mine, which has grown from 68 000 oz to 783 000 oz in the same time.”

Dixon noted that there was significant potential to further increase resource at the Williamson deposit, and added that a drill programme was currently being planned to both increase the confidence in the existing resource and to test the high-grade extensions down plunge.
