PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Beadell Resources on Monday warned of a delay to the start of openpit cutbacks at its Duckhead operations, at the Tucano mine in Brazil.

The miner explained that issues had arisen with third-party regulatory approvals associated with the mining concession that contained the Duckhead deposit.

The cutback was expected to contribute some 20 000 oz, at 28.7 g/t gold to Beadell’s production during 2015. However, the miner warned that any further delays could push the five-month mining duration of the cutback into the 2016 production profile.

The miner noted that its current 2015 production guidance of between 170 000 oz and 190 000 oz was dependent on a timely start to the cutback at Duckhead.

Beadell was forced to halt production at the Duckhead mine during 2014, as it introduced a new mine plan.
