PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Peter Bowler has retired as MD of gold miner Beadell Resources, with Simon Jackson succeeding him as MD and CEO.

Jackson, a chartered accountant, has 25 years of experience in the gold industry and was most recently a founding shareholder and president and CEO of the TSX-V-listed Orca Gold.

“After eight years at the helm, I am convinced now is the right time to hand over the reins to a highly experienced and enthusiastic team,” Bowler said on Tuesday.

“Beadell is now tracking on an upward trajectory with an evolving outstanding growth story in the making. It will continue to be led by a talented group of professionals with an acute focus on shareholder returns.”

Meanwhile, Mike Donaldson and Ross Kestel had also retired from the Beadell board of directors, while Rob Watkins had retired as director of the company. Watkins would remain in the senior management team as head of geology.

Brant Hinze had been appointed nonexecutive director, while Glen Masterman had been appointed executive director of geology and corporate development.

Peter Holmes had also been appointed as COO, succeeding Boyd Timler who had left the company to pursue other opportunities.
