PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed BCD Resources on Wednesday reported that it was on track to deliver steady-state production at its 50%-held Stormont gold mine, in Tasmania.

Mining from the openpit started in the second half of December, and processing at the Beaconsfield facility started in the second half of January. The volume of ore crushed has exceeded some 600 t/d, with feasibility volumes likely to be achieved over the coming weeks.

“The board is extremely pleased with the progress to date at Stormont, with both the mining and processing now approaching steady state in line with or above feasibility expectations,” said BCD chairperson Clive Carroll.

“In particular, we are encouraged as to the above forecast recoveries currently being achieved through the mill. The recommissioning of the Beaconsfield facility through carbon-in-leach processing has progressed well,” he added.

The project, which was jointly held with Torque Mining and Frontier Resources, was expected to produce 12 100 oz of gold.
