Orion Minerals CEO Errol Smart, above, took Mining Weekly on a guided tour of the company’s Prieska zinc and copper project, in the Northern Cape, where the company is leading a revival of the historic former workings of South Africa’s now defunct Anglovaal group. The Sydney-listed company’s secondary listing on the JSE last week is providing leverage towards efficient local funding options. The acquisition of Agama Exploration & Mining earlier this year has provided the exploration company with a portfolio of projects, including an advanced volcanic massive sulphide zinc/copper exploration project with near-term production potential at the Prieska zinc/copper site.
