Challenging market conditions in the mining industry necessitate the use of innovative, simple-to-use systems that provide for high-quality and cost-effective solutions. This will be the focus of Banding & Identification (ID) Solutions Africa’s presence at this year’s Electra Mining Africa.

The Band-It distributor has consistently supplied the local mining industry with its range of stainless steel products over many years, and is making inroads in increasing exports into Africa, sales director Rosa Dos Remendos highlights.

“Electra Mining Africa is recognised as the largest and most important mining trade show on the continent, attracting over 30 000 delegates. It is our aim to use this exhibition as a catalyst to propel our African export strategy, while also seeking out new local opportunities,” Dos Remendos comments.

In addition, Electra Mining Africa provides an invaluable platform to connect with customers directly, and gather first-hand knowledge about the latest trends and developments in the mining industry, which the company, in turn, can disseminate to its distributors and customer base.

The full range of Band-It stainless steel band-and-buckle systems, preformed clamps, cable ties, and identification solutions will be displayed, which are applicable for a diverse range of applications in the mining industry.

One of these is preventing cable theft on mine sites, which poses a serious health and safety risk, as well as impacting on productivity and increasing maintenance costs.

Banding & ID Solutions Africa sales representative Matthew Campbell explains that Ultra-Lok is a robust and tamperproof clamping system that is a cost-effective solution.

Other products suited for the mining industry are Band-It centre-punch clamps for low-pressure water and air lines. The combination of the double-wrapped design with stainless steel construction is a particularly robust option for mines.

“Our highly-trained and knowledgeable sales staff will be on hand to interact with delegates, and to provide all the technical information they may require about our full product range, and how it is best-suited to help mines reduce costs and improve health and safety,” Dos Remendos concludes.
