Auto Component Sector Endorses INDUTEC
Company Announcement - Two high-profile motor industry associations are the latest organisations to endorse the SA Industry and Technology Fair (INDUTEC). Members of the National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers are major contributors to the South African automotive manufacturing and component sector. NAACAM is joined by the Toolmaking Association of South Africa in support of AfriMold – one of the 12 shows that comprise the INDUTEC event.
“NAACAM and TASA bring the South African automotive industry firmly into the fold of this year’s INDUTEC show, and we believe this will strengthen our relationship with the local automotive sector significantly,” says John Thomson of Exhibition Management Services (EMS), organisers of the massive show. INDUTEC takes place from 20-22 May 2015 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand.
Shared Goals At INDUTEC
NAACAM represents the business interests of the automotive component manufacturers and is recognised both nationally and internationally as the voice of the South African component industry. “NAACAM provides companies with a dynamic forum to formulate policies and take actions that benefit the industry as a whole,” explains Robert Houdet, Chief Executive of NAACAM. “This exhibition helps strengthen the manufacturing sector by providing a strong platform for networking across all sectors of industry, in which the automotive industry is a very prominent player.” NAACAM has endorsed AfriMold in the past, prior to its acquisition as part of INDUTEC.
“We would like to create wider awareness of the services and expertise we provide to the manufacturing sector, and help strengthen the local automotive manufacturing industry in line with new Government requirements,” says Houdet.
TASA - Revitalising Manufacturing
South African vehicle manufacturers and truck producers spent R6.9-Billion in capital expenditure last year. TASA secretary Henk Snyman says showcasing the craft of tool, die and mould-making is the most critical aspect to revitalising the precision machining and manufacturing industry, and he believes TASA’s endorsement of INDUTEC is instrumental to that process. INDUTEC is the ideal platform for TASA members to network with industry, and TASA’s endorsement reinforces its commitment to strengthening the tooling and manufacturing industry throughout South Africa,” says Snyman.
“TASA members will be exhibiting a wide variety of tools and equipment at the show, and will benefit through wide exposure to industrial markets, and gain access to capital investment and enterprise development initiatives. In return, they provide significant expertise and skilled toolmakers to all manufacturing industries.”
INDUTEC organiser John Thomson is very pleased to have NAACAM and TASA endorse the AfriMold component of the massive 12-In-One INDUTEC show. “These organisations represent a major sector of the South African economy, as manufacturers, exporters and employers. And of course, they make INDUTEC even bigger and more successful,” says Thomson. “Both NAACAM and AfriMold aim to grow South Africa’s manufacturing capabilities and global competitiveness – and INDUTEC is an excellent platform to acheive that.”
