The project has a probable ore reserve estimated at 18.9-million tonnes grading 99.6% silicon oxide.
The project is expected to produce 39.6-million tonnes over an estimated 25-year mine life.
The project will use a unique and flexible mining and rehabilitation method to maximise production and the recovery of rehabilitated mined areas.
This involves sequentially mining 8 m to 15 m of sand from below the base of the soil profile in 2.25 ha blocks, with up to eight blocks mined a year.
