Nolitha Fakude and Anik Michaud are joining Anglo American Platinum’s (Amplats’) board as nonexecutive directors with effect from July 26.

They succeed Stephen Pearce and Tony O’Neill, who have stepped down as nonexecutive directors.

Fakude is parent company Anglo American’s group director for South Africa and chairs Anglo’s South African management board.

She was also recently appointed as president of the Minerals Council South Africa.

Michaud, meanwhile, is the group director for Anglo’s corporate relations and sustainable impact division and her remit includes corporate communication (including brand and employee engagement), international and government relations, social performance and engagement and sustainability integration to drive positive impact from the group’s sustainable mining plan.
