Aim- and TSX-V-listed Amaroq Minerals has completed the first gold pour at its flagship Nalunaq gold mine, in Greenland. The pour took place on Wednesday, following the approval of Phase 1 commissioning of the Nalunaq processing plant by the government of Greenland.

The initial gold pour at Nalunaq yielded 1.2 kg of gold, following a ten-hour processing period. The milestone marks a significant step in the operation of the mine, with the processing plant now running at its nameplate capacity. The company intends to continue optimising the plant during the ongoing Phase 1 commissioning process and aims to conduct gold pours on a weekly basis moving forward.

“The first gold pour at Nalunaq mine signifies a major step on our journey, triggering initial cash flow generation. As Nalunaq transitions from being a cost centre to a cash generator, our focus turns to resource, mine life extension, and further exploration to unlock the full mineral potential of our Greenland portfolio," said Amaroq CEO Eldur Olafsson.

On Tuesday, the government of Greenland formally approved the Phase 1 commissioning of the Nalunaq processing plant, a crucial step that has enabled operations to commence. The next phase, which includes the integration of a flotation circuit, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.

Following the completion of Phase 2 commissioning, Amaroq expects to ramp up operations towards a steady-state nameplate plant capacity of 260 t/d to 300 t/d of material, with an expected gold grade of 12 g/t to 16 g/t gold. The company aims to achieve this production level by the fourth quarter of 2025.

Amaroq also plans to release an updated mineral resource estimate for the Nalunaq project in the first quarter of 2025, which is expected to provide further clarity on the long-term potential of the operation.
