Amplats established a new 600 000 t/y chrome retreatment plant at its Amandelbult mine, in Limpopo. The project was motivated by the suboptimal dumping of chrome-containing upper group two tailings.

Latest Developments
The Amandelbult chrome recovery plant has been commissioned. The plant is expected to generate additional free cash flow at current prices of between R350-million and R400-million a year.
