Altura’s Pilgangoora project progresses to feasibility study stage
JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Diversified junior Altura Mining on Monday announced that following the completion of its recent capital raising campaign, it was well positioned to further progress its 100% owned flagship lithium project at Pilgangoora in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The company averred that there was strong potential for the deposit to be mined and for a highly saleable spodumene concentrate to be recovered.
“Altura will continue the process of attracting strategic investment partners in conjunction with progressing the feasibility study,” the company added.
Altura stated that several stages of the study would run concurrently for the remainder of this year. Further, proposals had been received for some parts of the study and formal contracts were to be awarded to successful service providers in the coming weeks, the company added.
Altura said it was also preparing diamond core samples for further laboratory testing to provide additional information to evaluate the potential to recover more mineralised material from the overall ore feed in coarse and fine fractions.
The core was retained from a diamond core drilling programme following the completion of the 2012 scoping study.
“This additional communition, dense media separation and flotation testing is anticipated to be completed within three months,” Altura concluded.
