Hot commissioning has started at TSX-V-listed Alphamin Resources' Bisie tin project, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Construction of the mine was completed in the first quarter of this year and wet commissioning was completed in the week of April 22.

Hot commissioning involves feeding the plant with material, checking instrumentation calibration, process flows and individual equipment throughput. The hot commissioning, which builds up to a design throughput of 50 t/h into the jigging section and 8 t/h in the gravity concentration section is expected to be completed during this week.

The project will then enter the final commissioning phase of product optimisation.

Alphamin this week said it remained on track to achieve commercial production in the second half of this year.
