PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed PLD Corporation on Tuesday told shareholders that discussions with potential investors and partners into the Admiral Bay zinc project, in Western Australia, were continuing.

PLD said that in its discussions with potential partners, consensus existed regarding the upcoming zinc supply shortage and the absence of independent ASX-listed companies that wholly owned significant zinc/lead/silver projects.

The junior currently had an option agreement with the liquidators of Kagara to purchase the Admiral Bay project for combined cash and shares.

The option period would expire at the end of July.

A November review of the project data confirmed that the Admiral Bay project hosted about 72-million tonnes, grading 5.4% zinc equivalent for 4.31-million tonnes of contained zinc and lead.
