Preliminary works towards the commencement of construction works are underway on the 40 MW Power Plant in the Gaza Province of Mozambique. The plant is owned by Kuvaninga Energia SA – a company registered in Mozambique. ADC Projects is overall responsible for Project Management as Owners’ Representative. Group Five is the appointed EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor.

The role of ADC Projects extends beyond the Project Management Phase as the Company was also awarded the long term Operations and Maintenance contract. These services will commence during the third quarter of 2015 upon achieving the Plant Commercial Operation Date. This marks the second long term gas fired power plant contract ADC Projects secured. The company is currently performing the O&M of a gas fired power plant in Mpumalanga, South Africa since 2009. At present, ADC Projects is providing long term Operational and Business Management Services to the Owners of wind and coal power generators and to waste stream power generating facilities in the mining sector.

The Kuvaninga Energia Power Plant will be powered by ten GE Jenbacher J624 natural gas fired engines and the total capacity of 40 MW will be exported into Mozambique’s electricity grid providing increased capacity and adding stability to the network. Additionally, the project will provide tangible economic and social upliftment to the local community by means of employment opportunities and a water supply project.
